Sidebar, table info bar and toolbar

Find tables fast, read the key schema and indexes at a glance, and learn what every button in the info bar and toolbar does.

Table info bar

Above the data grid, the info bar summarises the open table and hosts the schema-level actions.

The info bar (name, item count, key and index tags) above the toolbar.
  • Item count — the ItemCount from DescribeTable. AWS refreshes this figure roughly every six hours, so treat it as approximate.
  • Key tags — PK name (S) and, when present, SK name (N) with the attribute type.
  • Index tags — one per global secondary index with its keys. Hover for the projection type. A non-ACTIVE status such as CREATING is appended while AWS builds the index. Each tag has a ✕ to delete that index after a confirmation.

Toolbar

The toolbar groups item-level and query-level actions. On narrow windows the text labels collapse to icons; hover any button for its name.

Main area states

  • Welcome — shown when no tab is open: connect and pick a table to start.
  • Loading data… — a spinner while a request is in flight.
  • No items found — the query ran but returned nothing on this page. Adjust the filters or add an item.
  • Query error — the AWS error message appears as a toast, and inline under the editor in SQL mode.
