Contributing
Report bugs, suggest features and send pull requests. These are the conventions that keep the codebase consistent and safe.
Reporting bugs and ideas
Open an issue on GitHub. For bugs, include the app version, your operating system, the connection type (AWS, SSO, Assume Role or local endpoint) and the exact message you saw. Never paste credentials or real table data.
Pull requests
- Fork the repository, create a branch and keep each pull request focused on one change.
- Run
npm testandnpm run lintbefore opening it; both must pass. - Describe what changed and how you verified it, with a screenshot for UI changes.
- By contributing you agree that your code is distributed under the project’s license.
Code conventions
- Controllers do not catch errors: they throw, and the central error handler maps AWS errors to HTTP responses.
- Every value interpolated into HTML goes through
escapeHtml. Data from DynamoDB is untrusted. - Table calls use
tableApi(...)so they carry the active tab’s connection. localStorageis only accessed throughutils/storage.js.- A new code-generator language is a new module in
public/js/codegen/languages/, registered in itsindex.js, with user values encoded throughcodegen/expressions.js.

Troubleshooting
Fixes for the messages you are most likely to meet: connection failures, access denied, expired sessions, query validation errors, imports that fail and buttons you cannot find.
