DynamoOps
Getting started

What is DynamoOps?

DynamoOps is a free desktop platform for Amazon DynamoDB that replaces the AWS Console with a faster, developer-first workflow: connect, query, edit, watch costs and streams, export infrastructure code and generate SDKs.

Overview

DynamoOps is a free desktop application for macOS and Windows that connects directly to your AWS account and gives you a single, fast workspace for everything you do with DynamoDB. It is built for backend engineers, platform teams and anyone who has spent too long waiting for the AWS Console to reload.

The workspace: tables in the sidebar, one tab per table, the query toolbar and the results grid.

Unlike browser-based tools, DynamoOps runs entirely on your machine. Your AWS credentials are read from the standard AWS CLI configuration, temporary credentials live only in memory, and table data is never sent anywhere else. The app has no account, no license check and no telemetry: it only talks to AWS or to the endpoint you choose.

What you can do

Connect to anything
AWS CLI profiles, Assume Role across accounts, IAM Identity Center (SSO) sign-in in the browser, DynamoDB Local and LocalStack.
Query without the docs open
Scan, Query by key or index, and a PartiQL editor with context-aware autocomplete, templates and formatting.
Edit data in place
Insert, edit, duplicate and delete items from a table or JSON view, with local version history and side-by-side diffs.
See cost as you go
Every operation reports the capacity units DynamoDB actually consumed, with a session tracker, per-table breakdown and alerts.
Watch changes live
A real-time DynamoDB Streams feed with INSERT, MODIFY and REMOVE events and attribute-level change summaries.
Ship infrastructure and code
Export any table as CloudFormation, Terraform or Pulumi, and generate a complete SDK project in eight languages.

Free, with the source on GitHub

Every feature described in these docs is available to everyone at no cost: no plans, no trials, no account and no license key. Companies can use DynamoOps internally too, including for-profit ones.

  • Source code — the whole app is public on GitHub. Read it, build it and send pull requests.
  • License — MIT + Commons Clause. You can use, copy and modify it freely; you cannot sell it or embed it in a paid product. See License for the details.
  • Downloads — installers for macOS and Windows are published on the GitHub releases page, or you can build from source.

How these docs are organized

The documentation follows the shape of the app. Start with the Getting started guides, then dive into the area you need. Each feature page explains what the feature does, where to find it in the interface, every option it exposes and the edge cases worth knowing about.

Press ⌘ K anywhere in the docs to search by feature name, UI label or shortcut.
