Deleting items

Delete a single item from its row or record, or select many rows and remove them in one batched operation with automatic retry on throttling.

Deleting one item

Click 🗑 on a row in the table view or on a record in the JSON view. The Delete Item dialog shows the full JSON of the item so you can confirm you have the right one, then Delete issues a DeleteItem by primary key. A toast confirms and the grid refreshes from page 1.

No undo
Deletes are permanent. Version History keeps snapshots taken before edits, not before deletes, so copy the JSON first if you might need it back.

Bulk delete

Bulk delete previews the key of every selected item.
  1. Select rows

Tick the checkboxes in the table view, shift-click for ranges or use the header checkbox for every visible row. Only rows on the current page can be selected.

  2. Click 🗑 Delete in the toolbar

The dialog is titled Delete N Items and previews the key of every selected item, up to 50 lines, followed by “… and M more” when needed.

  3. Confirm

DynamoOps sends BatchWriteItem requests in chunks of 25 keys. Throttled or unprocessed keys are retried up to three times with exponential backoff.

  • Success: “N items deleted”. The selection is cleared and the grid refreshes.
  • Partial success: “D deleted, U not processed (throttled) — try again”. Re-run the query, reselect the remaining rows and delete again.
  • Consumed write capacity is reported to Cost Analytics as a single batch operation.

To remove every item in a table, use Truncate Table instead of paging through selections.
